Tip of the Day #18: Pull Wedding Trends Out of the Box
Tip of the Day #18: Pull Wedding Trends Out of the Box I love the idea of taking normal wedding trends and putting a unique spin on them. In fact, quite literally, I love when planners think outside of the box and turn normal items completely upside down to create an entirely new product. One of the best examples I've seen lately is the quintessentially adorable mason jar. Many of the 2011 summer nuptials featured southern cocktails like mint juleps or spiked lemonade served in mason jars with striped straws. 100% adorable, but 100% overdone.
Instead of following the crowd and scouring wedding blogs for previously used "trendy" wedding ideas, stay ahead of the curve and use old products in new ways. Here are a few great alternative uses for mason jars including hanging lanterns, photograph displays, flower vases, favor and dessert holders.
A few other great items that are versatile enough to re-purpose include frames (can double as table numbers or signage at your wedding), wine crates (can double as centerpiece boxes, a catalog for seating cards or as centerpieces) and birds' nests (can double as a ring bearer box, centerpieces or place card holders). Happy crafting!
